Over the past few months, Minecraft has been rising in popularity to a point where it can challenge gaming hit, Fortnite. Minecraft have announced many new things like the next few updates including, Foxes, campfires and a huge variety of items. Minecraft also hold votes to see what gets added into the next update, while fortnite is currently sitting at the top with 200 Million consistent players which dominates the rest of the gaming industry, no game has ever been as popular. Except Minecraft. Minecraft originally went out of popularity in 2018 because of fortnite, however, it has been making a huge comeback in the past year becoming the most bestselling game with over 30 million PC copies sold. Many think that Minecraft has "risen once more" because of the Minecraft Earth announcement which actually looks pretty good but that's just me, or the other announcement of Minecraft Dungeons. Minecraft is likeable by fans because it listens to its players unlike fortnite who add random things people end up complaining about, like the Infinity Blade which made an appearance in fortnite from another game made by Epic Games. Fortnite also seems to appeal to its fanbase because it is free to play and anybody can play it.
Personally, I prefer Minecraft over Fortnite for the nostalgia, also Fortnite can come across as extremely glitchy and have consistent huge lag spikes.
